HAYES, JACKIE VIRGIL, SR. - age 62 of Maynardville, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at UT Medical Center. Jackie was a Vietnam veteran, and a member of Hilltop Baptist Church, but attended Pleasant Gap Baptist Church. Preceded in death by: parents, Reverend Virgil and Elsie Hayes; sister, Alberta Hayes. Survivors: sons, Jackie Jr., and Joseph Allen; former wife, Anna Hayes; grandchildren, Tanner Joseph, Ethan Lynn, Dustin Jackie; sisters, Mable Flatford and Wilma Beason; brothers, Phillip and Franklin Hayes; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 Friday, with funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel at Cooke Mortuary. Reverend E. R. Cooper officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Cooke Mortuary and proceed to Hines Creek Cemetery for 11:00 a.m. interment.
