BATES, GERALDINE - age 75, of Maynardville, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009. Geraldine was born in Harlan County, KY, and was of Baptist faith. Preceded in death by: parents, Dave and Josie Wynn Hensley; sister, Flora Lee Turner; brother-in-law, Milburn Turner; brothers, Homer Hensley, David Hensley, and Lawrence Hensley. Survivors: loyal husband of 53 years, Frank Bates; daughter, Debbie and husband Jack Lister; son, Danny Bates; sisters, Thelma Robinson, and husband Bud, Pauline Crider and husband Ralph; grandchildren that she loved dearly, Jason and wife Tiffany Lister, Jeremy Lister, Jeffery and Alicia Lister, Justin Lister, Julie Lister, Derek and Brittney Bates; great grandchildren, McKenna, Kilen, Angellica, Tyler, and Rebecca Lister, Mason Bates. A special thanks to the staff of the CPU unit at St. Mary's Medical Center. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 Saturday at Cooke Mortuary. Family and friends will meet 9:00 a.m. Sunday at Cooke Mortuary and proceed to New Loyston Cemetery for 10:00 a.m. graveside service.
