ALLEY, IRENE CHRISTINE - age 82 of Corryton passed away on Thursday May 28, 2009. Born and raised in Knoxville, she was, married to the late William Alley for 55 years. She was a long standing member of Clear Springs Baptist Church. Preceded in death by: parents: Marshall and Delta Woods; sisters: Ida Rader and Malzena Woods; brothers: Briscoe, Woodrow and Hubert Woods. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law: Brenda and Gary Wilson of Mt. Juliet, Tn.; sons and daughters-in-law: David and Beth Alley of Marietta, Ga., Michael and Tammy Alley of Corryton, Tn. And Tony and Kristie Alley of Corryton, Tn.; grandchildren: Wendy and David Chandler, Jessica and Christian LaGrossa, Justin Wilson, Jennifer and Daniel Smith, Thomas Alley, Michele Alley, Matthew Alley and Rachel Alley; great grandchildren: Brendan, Bryson and Briley Chandler, Gabriel LaGrossa and Felton Smith; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thanks to her long-time caregivers for their loving attention: Liz Carmon, Carol Albright, Crystal Browning and Oneida Godfrey. Service 8 pm Sunday Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City, Rev. Jerry Vittatoe officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Monday at Clear Springs Baptist Church Cemetery for interment service at 11 am. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
