    1. Re: [TNUNION] Seeking a divorce record, and a marriage record
    2. Actually, it was formed in 1850, but there was no census taken for Union county. It wasn't until after the Civil war that marriage records got started. (I'm thinking that according to a gr-grandfather's childhood account of the battles going "up the valley & down the valley", it probably managed to burn the courthouse at least once. I do not see an Eliza marrying a Berry. The only thing close is Elizabeth Davis marrying John Johnson on 08/14/1879. The marriage for Berry to Nancy is probably in Grainger or Claiborne County because Union wasn't formed until 1860. -----Original Message----- From: tnunion-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:tnunion-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Judy Erickson Sent: Sunday, June 13, 2010 10:29 PM To: tnunion-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [TNUNION] Seeking a divorce record, and a marriage record Dear List, I am seeking the marriage record of Berry Johnson (1841-1922 & s/o Seth Johnson) to Nancy Ellen Johnson (b. @ 1841, d/o Vardamon Johnson), probably around 1856-1857. This couple divorced around 1870, when each of them was living with their respective parent/parents. I would also appreciate knowing if there is a divorce record in Union Co., and the date of that record. Berry Johnson remarried Eliza Louisa Davis on (the unproven date) 21 Nov. 1870. Was this marriage in Union County? Any information appreciated. I can find no marriage or divorce records on the US Genweb site for Union Co.
