The fact of the matter is this, most newer computers will recognize the year 2000. We all know that but there are three more issues that we must look at. 1) Software that is not y2k compliant. The real problem will come from software not system bios. Many people will disagree with me on this point but write it on the wall that Chip said it. 2) The idiot on channel 10 here in Knoxville that they said was an expert. He points at a toaster and says that a toaster may not work in the year 2000. What?! Good grief this guy is called an expert and this is the best he can do? What could possibly happen to a toaster? And no it didn't have a timer it was just your normal run of the mill toaster. Maybe the power grid will fail in our area. Well sure if that happens the toaster won't work. But that's like saying the car won't work because it has no gas. 3) And finally the real problem will come from panic. People taking their money out of banks. People buying gallons of gas. People buying a years worth of groceries. There will be gas shortages, and grocery store shelves will be empty. What we are going to see is what we call in Tennessee a good old fashioned snow scare. The true damage will be to the economy, because of our panic and misinformation sent out by the news media about toasters! Why do we believe the news media anyway? We can all agree that weather men have no brain whatsoever. The only group of people more simple is the news media. After all they're the one's dumb enough to hand the weather man a paycheck. How long would you get a paycheck if you went to work and only got your job right 32% of the time? Now honestly, how many of you right now are saying, "I like this guy Chip but he's a real nut!"
