Chip, I get the impression that some people think you are saying Rootsweb is considering charging for posting to the boards, lists etc. Correct me if I am wrong but I thought that they were reserving the right to charge people who are selling things like genealogical books and CDs through their new classified section. They have always charged for some things by only offering them to folks who are contributors; things like hosting a surname board, being a listowner, automatic surname notification, and most recently mail mode for ROOTS-L. As for the archiving of old posts -- how is their policy any different from posting to most any other non genealogy list and having that post (while still yours, legally) archived irretrievably and for all time by Deja News or some other net archive?
