Dear Kay, I am also responding to your request for information regarding Union County. You will fly into Knoxville, TN. Major airlines serve McGhee Tyson Airport. If you are planning to do research you definitely want to visit the East TN Historical Society, also the Union County Historical Society/Museum. Check the hours on both of these as they vary. My high school friend, Ginny Johnson, is the Librarian at the UCHS. She volunteers there on Sundays only. You will find both of these places helpful with research.
