As a member of the Newspaper Mailer's Union Local # 83, and as an employee of the News Sentinel, and former employee of the Journal (which both operated in the same facilities under a joint agreement), I just wanted to say that Unions had nothing to do with the closing of the Knoxville Journal. Big business killed the Journal. The closing of the Journal caused temporary layoffs for many Union (and non-Union) employees. Please don't confuse political beliefs with reality. Sorry for being off-topic. Thanks, Kevin Mullins Surnames in Union Co; KELLER, TURNER, TUCKER, DEES, ZEAK/ZICK, SHARP P.S. Most of my fellow co-workers preferred the Journal to the News-Sentinel.
