I am desperately trying to track down who Sarah Strevel married. I know his last name was Bowen, but I'm not sure of his first name. I know they were only married for a short time and that he disappeared at some point after their children were born. They had two son's Andrew Jackson Bowen, who was born June 1877 and Doc Bowen. I don't know who was the older of the two sons, but I do know that Doc was still living in Maynardville, Tn, when Andrew died 1953. I know the Strevel family had lived in Union County for decades, with two of them, including Sarah's father dieing in the Civil War. Where the unknown Bowen came from, I have no idea, but until I can find out his full name, I really doubt that I will be able to trace back my Bowen roots any farther than Andrew and his mother. The only records that I have concerning Sarah Stevel Bowen has to do with the settling of her step mother, Lydia Strevel's meger estate. Lydia died in 1909, Union County. If anyone knows anything about Sarah and her husband please let me know. I would appreciate any and all info and want to take this opportunity to thank the many people who helped me out with info on my Butcher and Cox roots earlier in the week. I really appreciate all the informative info you all sent. You were all a great help. Thanks Richard Holt
