The origin is somewhere in the vicinity of the current Southern Grainger Co. or Northeastern Union Co. It runs generally Southward from somewhere between the towns of Washburn in Grainger Co. and Luttrell in Union Co. Then, just South of the Union/Knox Co. border to turns roughly Eastward and then runs all the way to the Holston River. Now, exactly where it becomes East Flat Creek is a good question. I'm not sure anyone knows with any degree of certainty. At the time of your ancestor's death the area around Luttrell was Grainger Co. and became Union Co. OFFICIALLY in 1850. So, currently his grave could be in Grainger, Union, or Knox Co. The Fousts lived in that general area near Luttrell which would currently be Union Co. -- Terry L.
