My maiden name is Ellison and my family has traced us back to three brother's who moved from N.Caroline about 1797. I believe that their father's name might have been James but one of the three brother's was named James and was born in 1780. This James was my great great great great grandfather. He was married to a Susannah Ausmus. I have heard that some can trace us back to the McAllister clan from Scotland. James has a grandson named Berry who was born in1836. This Berry was married at Lost Creek, Union County by a Reverend Williams. He had three children before he joined the Union Army in Union County. Any help on this line or the Ellison's Part in the Civil War would be WONDERFUL. Write please. Melissa :-).
