    1. Mail List Problems?
    2. Hi folks, A lady who hadn't been a member of our list very long had a little problem with our recent conversations. I've included her e-mail to me below. Out of being a gentleman, I have deleted her name and e-mail address. She decided not to be a member of our list anymore. Instead of just unsubscribing, she felt the need to e-mail me personally, and give me her opinion. That's fine, I understand her ideas. Although I hope that I am not ever so busy that I don't have time to talk about other things. What cheesed me off was that this lady, after sending me this e-mail decided it necessary to report me and my list to the TnGenWeb. No I don't get in trouble, it's my list and I can pretty much do what I want. The lady that takes complaints at TnGenWeb is a personal friend of mine and forwarded this ladies e-mail to me. Trust me the one she sent to the TnGenWeb was nowhere near as nice as the one she sent to me. I have therefore not included that one in this letter. My point is simply this. For months we go and talk about just genealogy. For months we go and only have one or two e-mails a week. Every now and then, we get off track and talk about Cole's Store or Moon Pies. Well personally I think an old time meeting place in our county is genealogy related. Personally I think Moon Pies are a social icon of the southern area in which Union County rests. Therefore it is my opinion that these are relevent facts. If anyone wants to unsubscribe, then feel free to do so. If any of you have a problem with me let me know. I can think of no position that I have on any issue that is not flexible. This lady was entitled to her opinions. But to blatently go behind someone's back to report them and the member's of their list is wrong, and blatent cowardace. That is my opinion and nobody elses. It is things like this that truly make me want to give up and devote all my time to Maynardville.Com. So why am I writing this to you all? To make this statement. The mail list is what it is and nothing else. If you go to our poll and look, you will see an overwhelming success rate at people finding family members through our list. If we stray off topic sometime, so be it. I don't think this list is going to fill anyone's mailbox. I am not sour on the world yet as some people seem to be. Disgruntled Chip Union County TnGenWeb P.S. I have another list ready if I should ever have the need or obligation to move off of Rootsweb. If someone complains, and the establishment should ever side with them (not likely) I would be most glad to accept any of you as members on my other list. I consider all of you friends and do not want to loose a single one of you. Life is too short to loose friends over Moon Pies.
