I have is that James and George Luther and their sister were born in Union Co. Tenn. and then later they lived in Grainger Co. in the Powder Springs area. He was arrested and jailed for the shooting and broke out of jail. Found innocent later. James changed his name to George Campbell Crawford and ran away to Ashville, N.C., where he married Anna Taylor. They are my grandparents. In the 50's Luther owned a motel and restaurant in Clinton, Tenn. All the family has disappeared. My grandfather talked about Sam Shelton and being related to the Acuff's. family??????.
