Hi Alice and Kay: Well, you have a very good question about Ambrose Sharp! Who are his parents? Will do more searching on him but I have unable to find his parents, too. Have no idea about this Andrew Jesse Sharp and family that was discussed. Do you show his parents? Elizabeth Shoffner and Ambrose mar 16 Dec 1847 in Union or Claiborne Counties. Due to county boundary changes in 1850 - could be either one! Elizabeth died 04 Jul 1890; location unk. Elizabeth d/o Jesse Lay and Dorcas Shoffner. All of Dorcas children used her surname. Reason for this is unknown. Isaac Calvin b. 17 Jul 1853 in Claiborne or Union County. Only child in my data base. Now onto K/Catherine Sharp. Yes, you were correct. She was d/o John Nicholas Sharp and Malinda Ausmus. Malinda b. 04 Oct 1818 in Claiborne d. abt 1870. She was d/o Henry Ausmus and Malinda Price. John N. b. 16 jan 1817 at Sharps Station, Union (was Claiborne) Co. d. abt 1870. Nicholas (as he went by) was s/o Agnes Kirk and George Sharp. What do you mean by Union County as well as Monroe? FYI, Mary Sharp b. 1820 in Sharps Station; who married to Nathaniel Cain; my ggg grandparents. Mary d/o Agnes Kirk and George Sharp. Hope that this little tidbit helps! Dan R.
