But, one Samuel Cox (previously married and with children) married Margaret Crippen in Knox Co. in 1807. Based upon some events and an altercation with his brother-in-law, John Crippen, he probably lived in the North Knox Co. area around Halls. He apparently died as a result of this altercation and his Will was probated in July of 1808. Only one child, John, was named in material that I have seen, but I do know there were several other children. Now fast reversing ..... This Samuel Cox would perhaps be of an appropriate age to have been the youngest son of Henry Cox/Ann Madison of Blount Co. Henry named a son Samuel in his Will of 1807 which was then probated in 1808. Do you suppose there is a connection here? I do know that Samuel was a common named used among other descendants of Henry Cox of Blount Co.
