    1. Re: Adkins family
    2. DEar Karen, Haven't been ding much on the ADkins. Been busy running to the doctor since we've returned to Minnesota. I had my other hip replaced, several tests I'd been putting off., Warren had a bloood clot in his leg over the holiday and I got some sort of weird non-itching rash on my calves at the same time. Last week I had my first cataract removed, so we've spent most of the time in doctors offices. I got a letter the other day from a woman who said she has been searching for the paretns of Lewis Adkins for over two weks now and wanted to know who they wer. I told her that's what a lot of us want to know and despite many years of combined searching none of us had any idea yet. I just got an anwser yesterday that said, "Well, there has to be an answer someplace, a document or something no one has looked for." You know sometimes I get very angry at people whothrow you a name, with no date or places and expect a complete 10 generation read-out. Think I'm getting too old for this on line genealogy. In the good-old-days people were polite and helpful and the hobby was a delightful way to meet people and investigate ancestors. Now, everyone wants instant gratification. Maybe we should all go back to snail mail and have to wait for three weeks for an answer (if one came at all). There are a lot of people interested in the Monroe side now, too. If you'd like their names and E-Mail addresses, I'll send them to you, although they don't know any more than we do about Lewis. They're still trying to figure out who were the parents of the first 3-4 kids of RRobert and Rosannah Puckett Monroe. I'm beginning to think the same problem is true with Lewis' parents. Maybe those first kids belonged to him and another wife, or her and another husbnad or they were nieces and nephews of one or the other. That is I'm assuming that Elijah and Nancy Hunter were the parents of the rest.... which is also a dangerous thing to do. Well, my great-grandson just came for a visit so I'll close this out. Please excuse the typos.... he wants to play his Math Blaster. Let's keep in touch. It's been a long time since we've really chatted. Earlene
