    3. In doing research on any family lines in Union County, has anyone come across a David Bowen? He is my gg grandfather and I can't get past him in researching this line. All I know is that he married Serena "Sarah" Strevel in 1877 and they had two sons Miles "Doc" Bowen and my great grandfather Andrew Jackson Bowen. I can't find an 1880 census listing for them anywhere in Tennessee, but both sons said they were born in Tennessee and my great grandfather was born roughly about 1880. I thought because they weren't listed in any of the transcribed 1880 censuses for Union County that they had left and went elsewhere, but I now believe their listing probably was on one of the pages of the 1880 census that has faded away. I found from looking at the microfilm that there are several pages of that census for Union County where the info has completely faded away, probably the result of water damage from the fire that destroyed the 1890 census. Anyway, I just wanted to post a message to see if any might have come across this name in their research. The only record I can find for him is his marriage record in 1877. Richard Holt
