Is Maynard the son of John Erwin? The 80 Union Co census shows a Maynard 20 married and d-i-l as Jane 18,maybe her name was Sarah Jane. There are in the home of John Erwin Collins (52) and his wife Sarah (36), so maybe they called her Jane to cut down on confusion. I did not find any other Boyd's living in Union CO in 1880, but there were some Boyd families in Grainger CO. You mentioned you didn't know how long they stayed in Union Co. Do you know where they went?
