Posted on: Union Co. Tn Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tn/Union/778 Surname: Loy ------------------------- Nancy is mentioned in Fisher's will. His daughters are listed by their married surnames. This is the same Fisher Loy. As for George Loy, there is no proof his wife's first name was Mary. The LDS baptism proxy by their daughter Margaret in 1842 says that Margaret's mother was Catherine Loy and grandmother was Mary Elizabeth Tillman. Had Catherine had a first name, I'm sure Margaret would have listed it, since she did her grandmother. I believe this "Mary" addition came from a Stoner's Church (in NC) record-- after George died, by the way-- that gives a George Loy attending with wife Maria (Mary). This George would have been a nephew to the George who married Catherine Tillman. Also, after more research (especially on the dates John Tillman married Eva Dryden) Catherine may not have been Tobias' sister, even though their children who intermarried have been said to have been first cousins. It is possible they could have been first cousins once removed, thus taking this down a generation either way and not quite second cousins.
