Barbara,Rev Hugh Caldwell was born Jan.20,1827 and died June 5,1906. He is buried at Bethany Baptist Church.He was married two times. His first wife was Polly Bayless who died in 1876. He married Minerva Hoskins in 1879. She died in 1900. He had a daughter named Syntha and a son MF Caldwell. M.F. was an attorney in Knoxville .It is believed that his father was Hugh Caldwell who came to Tn from Botetourte Co. Va. and that his mother was Lucretia Gault Welch.Syntha Caldwell married Calaway Stanley on Nov 12 1865. M F Caldwell married M J Clapp Dec 8 1881.Rev Hugh is believed to be a half brother to my great great Grandfather English Caldwell. Rev Hugh mother being Welch and English mother was a Ferrier.
