    3. Thank you very much! I mistakenly send a reply to the list when I intended to send it to you. It went out as your message came in. I have a couple questions regarding the info below: 1. Do you know who the father of Hugh and English was? 2. You name Hugh's children Syntha and M.F. and then you talk about M.F.'s father being Hugh who came from VA. This is the same Hugh? It almost sounds as though you mean another man? 3. You name two wives for Hugh, Polly and Minerva, but then you say that M.F.'s mother was Lucretia Gault. Did you mean that Hugh's mother was Lucretia? Later you state that Hugh's mother was Welch. Was Hugh married 3 times to BAYLESS, HOSKINS and GAULT? M.F. was Martin, I believe. Martin (or his son?) was Gov. of FL. He had a sister (Mrs. McGarity as I recall) who was interested in genealogy and researched the family history but I have not seen her research. The Gov.'s papers are on file in the FL state archives. I live about 80 miles from Tallahasse and hope to be able to see the Gov.'s papers one day. The archive building is difficult to get to and I cannot go at all in hot weather because there is no close parking and the heat is too much for me. It is my hope that the papers include a family history. I have info on other CALDWELLs and wonder how they connect (if at all) to the Rev. William BAYLESS, son of Isaac of Union Co., married Rhoda CALDWELL. I don't know anything about Rhoda beyond her name. I would like to know more about all of these CALDWELLs. They are not in my direct line but I have an interest in all lateral lines and BAYLESS family members including their spouses, etc. I will gladly share any BAYLESS info that I may have and if I am ever able to get to the archives, I will gladly share any CALDWELL history that I might find.
