There are so many of you praying for Pastor Mike and his family that I was afraid I would miss someone if I emailed you privately. This is the update on the situation. Date: Sat, 6 Jan 2001 16:04:25 -0500 Dear Ones -- Today is Saturday the 6th and we really do not know any more today than we did yesterday -- just more details but not the glue to put it together. The girl that was being looked for came in voluntarily and was interviewed by the Temple PD for almost 6 hours. She seems to throw suspicion (allegedly) back on a neighbor of the boys that seemed to have promised to take their money and turn it into big bucks in Corpus Christi. They were allegedly supposed to go with him to Corpus over the New Year's Weekend and get the money -- but at the same time this does not add up as they were also supposed to move to San Marcos that same weekend. It all adds up to we don't know where they are. The Sheriff's dept in Waco is not releasing the car or its contents to us or anyone else because they believe that there is something in the car that will aid them in their search. WE know the blood in the car is human --but it will take 2 weeks for DNA testing to verify whose blood. Because they have a sample of the blood from Nancy, Me & the other boy's parents we will know then conclusively if the boys were in the car. The story has been in the newspapers and on the TV & some leads have come from that -- all dead ends so far. Nancy & I have been going through Aaron's stuff today and we know he would not leave it -- we also feel like he is gone because this is something you do when someone you love has died. We have alternated between praying and crying hard. IF we do not learn something conclusively today we will make plans to return home on Sunday - pending Delta having flights available. WE love you all and thank God for you praying for us. You are all heavy on our hearts. Mike & Nancy Rae Davis-Smith http://www.angelfire.com/de/LawDog/index.html
