They had hoped we could get 5 million names indexed in 24 hours, but we are far surpassing this. Now they're wondering if we can hit 10 million names. We have about an hour and 20 minutes. That's time to index a page or two or three (depending on the hand writing and typing speed. Accuracy does count. If you can spare an hour, come help: you can sign on at Familysearchindexing.org. If you've indexed some, come give another hour. You probably have until 8 if you're in TN. I've got til 7. So I'm going to run now and see if I can get another couple pages done before the deadline. This is incredible--and their images are free. (The original microfilming was crappy, the feds did not do a good job of preserving our records. Images are free on www.familysearch.org--even unindexed 1940, and they'll be free when indexed, but them put them up 1 state at a time. You get to index the project you want, though only the 1940 census stuff counts for this project. Karen -- Finding ancestors is like eating potato chips--you can't stop with just one!

He was married 3 times. Louisa was #1, a second wife ? didnt live very long & 3rd wife was Samantha Josephine. I know his mother was Lucinda however I have not been able to find out who his father was. His death cert says it was Buck Hundley. Lucinda (Cinda) was living with a Buckner family at the age of 13. At age 23 she was living with Axley Hundley (f) age 49 & Rody Hundley (m) age 21. She also has a 1yr old son. It also says she is a spinster. I do not know who these people are. Maybe her mother & brother or an Aunt & cousin? I can not find anything about them. At age 33 she has 2 more children plus William Ace. At 43 she has another child and is listed as married. Her name has never changed from Hundley and all of her children are listed as Hundley. If anyone has any additional info I would appreciate it. I did find a Jane Perry married to a Silas Helton in 1865 and also a Jane Perry married to John Smith in 1891 could either of these two be Paul's daughter? Appreciate any help you can give me on these three children Thank you Margaret Freemon _margfreemon@aol.com_ (mailto:margfreemon@aol.com)
When did she marry? You might find her in the 1850 census with her parents, as she'd only be about 18. Union marriages don't start until after the Civil War, and TN marriage records aren't nearly as informative as some other states. But I'd look and see if she's in 1850 with parents. It's also worth checking all of the other censuses, because sometimes elderly parents move in with their kids when they can't stay alone any more (no nursing homes in those days.) You might also look for wills that list her from her parents or siblings. www.familysearch.org has a lot of census images on line to use for free. Censuses are a great place to start.
