I have an ancestor, John Phillip Sharitz (Sharrett/Sharits/Sherrod, etc.) who bought 200 acres in 1819 on the West Fork of Flat Creek from Christian Foust. John died about a year later and his family moved back to Sullivan Co., TN. Can anyone tell me where the West Fork of Flat Creek is? I am trying to find his grave site. Thanks. There is a Flat Creek near Corryton on Emory Road in Knoxville Tennessee. It's very near the Knox-Union County line. Chip Union County TnGenWeb
Ron, Ms. Ledgerwood was from Texas. In 1968, when the book was compiled, she listed her address as Houston, Texas. Mark Shumate lived in the Powell Valley area, near Arthur, TN. Hi Chip, I much prefer index2.html. I get so frustrated with these county pages that are so cute you can't find anything. The simple one with all links across the top and bottom, and not confusing, is excellent. Bill Hunter
Looking for information on a grave that was moved. The person is Lou Anne BEELER HUNLEY, wife of Benjamin HUNLEY. Would like to know where it is, and any dates that might be engraved on it. Thanks! Carol
Hello Chip, Index2 is my choice... you make it hard to choose, great job on both pgs.. sandy
Chip: http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnunion/index2.htm I like this one better, I have to say, though that the white letters don't show up all that well, and people with bad eyesight will have problems navigating on it. The words are small, and then they don't show up all that well, even with the shadowing behing them. Guess I notice things like that more, after dealing with my mother and her 5 eye surgeries in past year. She'd have a heck of a time reading and navigating it. I'd hate to see that, as she lives for genealogy! LOL!

The Union County TnGenWeb Site is in search of stories about Union County Families from yesteryear. Chip, I prefer index page #1. Which is the 2nd one you have listed. Bill White P.S. I especially like the picture of the bridge crossing Norris Lake.
Chip I agree with the person below, both are great, for some reason the first one is coming in the fastest. they are both great. FLOCORN@aol.com wrote: > Chip, > > You may as well toss a coin. Both are great; I just like the way this one looks and having the site info at the top instead of the far left-hand side. Good job!!! Nina MORTON T.
Chip, You may as well toss a coin. You have done great on both of them. I lean a bit to the one at <A HREF="http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnunion/index2.htm">Test Index2</A> or http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnunion/index2.htm I guess its the picture. As I have stated before we are totally changing the Union County page. As we add more stuff the page has become terribly slow. We had to put off our newspaper project to address this problem. We now have two versions we are trying. Could I impose on you all to have a look and tell me which one you prefer? Now these are frames pages, be assured before we do anything a non frames page will be available. Actually if all goes well the page will detect whether your browser uses frames, and if not will automatically load the no frames version. When we change to the new page, it will take the place of the old one so no bookmark changes should be necessary for our visitors. Have a look when you get a chance and let me know: http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnunion/index2.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnunion/index.htm Thanks, Chip Union County TnGenWeb
I like both sites, it's difficult to choose. Great Job!!!!!!! Either one will be fine.
