    1. Museum of Appalachia
    2. A note on John Rice Irwin's Museum of Appalachia. You can see the museum through the Union County TnGenWeb Page or access it directly at this url: http://thesmokies.com/features/places/norris_tn/index.htm Also if you are in the area take a drive through the town of Norris, just above the Museum. Here is a town where time has stood still. Kids still wald to school on sidewalks, and the community still gets together for social events. It looks like something from Andy Griffith. I am told the only crime there is that tourist come there and stay. Hope this helps, Chip Union County TnGenWeb http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnunion

    3. Is it not wonderful Chip to know that so many people care about you. We consider ourselves richly blessed when we find one true friend. The love that has been shown to you through our family of Union County Researchers inspires me, that maybe this world is full of a lot of good people after all.. Each of us die a little each day. It could be the death of a dream, a relationship, personal goals, and one of those people that come into our life and we are never quite the same for having known them. They leave there footprints on our lives and on our hearts and we inturn are able to pass it on to others. 2. Tuesday I was saddened to learn of the death of my best friend as the result of a traffic accident near Newport Tennessee. I tell you all about this because I have mentioned him in several personal e-mails to many of you. And I have even mentioned humorous things we have done in e-mails to the list. Rest assured if I ever said to you "A friend and I", I was speaking of Jeff. His name was Jeff Davis and was 29 years old. If I developed a pimple he would comment on how big and hideous it was. Likewise I would him. We were two of a kind and I will miss him very much. Now that I have written this I realize just how inadequate a memorial this is but it's the best I can do. If I had Jeff's life and friendship to do over again I'd probably do little different.
