    1. Re: Union County Stuff (Johnson)
    2. Just a note to all Johnson researchers. I have had the book, LONG LOST CUZZINS, forever and it's marvelous with tons of information. The author was Elmo Johnson and I believe he passed away last year. He did a magnificant job. Well worth the $10 plus shipping. Nina MORTON T.

If you are local, a Genealogical Workshop will be at the Clinton, Sr. High School next Saturday. Books will be for sale. I purchased my books, last fall from Bonnie Heiskell Peters at the Museum of Appalachia. Hope that helps DeAnna Lay

    1. Childhood memories
    2. I received an e-mail from one of our list members. She is collecting early memories from everyone in her family. These she will archive and have as a legacy in her family. Would you all be interested in something like that? It could be childhood memories of your grandfather or just anything that sticks out in your mind. Maybe a memory of the way your grandmother cooked. A funny story about the way your family reacted to a certain event. Absolutely anything. Maybe your memories of your kid's first Christmas. We will create a page for them to be placed on. If you are interested contact Thagamizer@aol.com for more information about sending in your stories. There would be no limit to the number of stories you can send. Let us know if you are interested. Chip Union County TnGenWeb

    1. Bowen-Strevel
    2. Raholt
    3. A couple weeks ago, I posted a message looking for a Serena or Sarah Strevel married who married a Bowen. Today I finally managed to find the marriage record for that marriage and discovered that the names had been mispelled and listed as David Bolen married Survena Strevils Aug 9, 1877. The marriage took place in Union County, but now I need to know if anyone has any more information on David Bowen (correct name) which may appear as it does in the marriage record as Bolen. Before today, even his first name was a mystery to me. I also couldn't find any further info on either of them except that, but I didn't have time to cover the records as well as I would have liked. If anyone has any further info on this man please let me know. Any and help would be appreciated. Richard Holt

    2. In a message dated 6/1/99 7:12:18 PM EST, PBurks5101@AOL.COM writes: << Did you know about this site? Go and check out who has signed the register. >> No I didn't know about the site thanks! I did go and have a look and was not surprised to find that nobody had signed any of the registers or boards. I went to this school and graduated in 1983. Back then it was called Horace Maynard High. Anyway in 1998 it was time for our fifteen year reunion. A friend of mine organized the whole thing sent out invitations and all that. Out of our graduating class two people showed up! Don't laugh that was one more than I expected. It's not that we hated each other it's just that we all went our different ways. That's a shame too. Thanks for the link and be sure to send me any more you run across. Chip Union County TnGenWeb
