Looking for information on Polly Heifner/Hefner who married Christian Keller. Both probably born around 1800. Thanks! Carol

Was wondering if anyone is researching the family of Patricia JACKSON who married Eli Ousley (1814/1874). Eli is buried in the Ousley Cemetery. I don't have any information on Elizabeth. Thanks/
Am looking for anyone researching the family of: Elizabeth LEWIS (ca1799/ca1880), who married Isaac Gentry 23Sept1818 in Union County. Both are buried in the Miller Chapel Cemetery. Thanks/
Does anyone have any information on Winney DYER who married John ATKINS on Oct. 26, 1786 in VA and then moved to Grainger Co., TN? Thank you, Carol
This may help some of you who have no idea what county your ancestor ended up in. You can now search the Death Records for all of Tennessee between the years of 1908 and 1912. This should be everyone who died regardless of county. Also, you can order death certificates online now. To see the page go to our Union County page and click on death. Hope it helps, let me know if it does. Chip Union County TnGenWeb
Looking for information on John Keller, born abt. 1828. Possibly the son of Christian Keller. John's first wife was Hannah Coppock (born abt. 1825) and his second wife was Nancy J. "Nannie" Gilbert. Thank you! Carol
Is anyone researching the family of Stubblefield Fletcher b. 1842 & his wife Sarah? In the 1880 Union Co census Martha Fletcher age 48 is living with this family. I believe this Martha is the unmarried daughter of Alfred Moore Fletcher. In 1870 she was living with her parents in Union Co. I'm trying to determine the relationship between Stubblefield Fletcher & Alfred Moore Fletcher - S. doesn't seem to have been his son; may have been a nephew. These Fletchers came to Tennessee from Lee Co VA.
Hi folks, My dad often bragged about being from Union County. He was Richard Austin Pierce born Feb. 19, 1910. and is buried in Taylor Grove Cemetery in Sharps Chapel. I am sort of new to this genealogy stuff and I really don't know how to proceed with my search. Any info or help would be appreciated. I would be happy to make any records I happen to find public by posting on this site or others. My dad Richard (Dick) Austin married Charlotte Mossie Beeler and had 4 kids: Pauline, Richard, Delano, and me Stephen. His dad's name was Josh (Joshua?) and his mother's name was Isabelle. I don't know which county they are from, but it might have been Ashland City, TN. Thanks. Steve

But, one Samuel Cox (previously married and with children) married Margaret Crippen in Knox Co. in 1807. Based upon some events and an altercation with his brother-in-law, John Crippen, he probably lived in the North Knox Co. area around Halls. He apparently died as a result of this altercation and his Will was probated in July of 1808. Only one child, John, was named in material that I have seen, but I do know there were several other children. Now fast reversing ..... This Samuel Cox would perhaps be of an appropriate age to have been the youngest son of Henry Cox/Ann Madison of Blount Co. Henry named a son Samuel in his Will of 1807 which was then probated in 1808. Do you suppose there is a connection here? I do know that Samuel was a common named used among other descendants of Henry Cox of Blount Co.
Dear Lucinda, Please be patient with us. Many of us aren't as experienced as you and words on a computer don't often convey what a person really means when they say something. We younger genealogy researchers are learning the ropes and I for one have found some wonderfully nice and helpful people along the way during my short time of exploration of my family's roots. The williness to help and share information has overwhelmed me and I hope I don't run into any schrooges who horde information or won't help others because they felt impatient with me or become offended at what I type because they can't hear my voice. I know I am not perfect, but then neither is anyone else. Peace and happiness to you. :o) Mary Atkins Zwahlen Berea, KY ----- Original Message ----- From: <OK1WE1@aol.com> To: <TNUNION-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, June 12, 1999 12:02 PM Subject: Re: Adkins family > DEar Karen, > Haven't been ding much on the ADkins. DEar Karen, Haven't been ding much on the ADkins. Been busy running to the doctor since we've returned to Minnesota. I had my other hip replaced, several tests I'd been putting off., Warren had a bloood clot in his leg over the holiday and I got some sort of weird non-itching rash on my calves at the same time. Last week I had my first cataract removed, so we've spent most of the time in doctors offices. I got a letter the other day from a woman who said she has been searching for the paretns of Lewis Adkins for over two weks now and wanted to know who they wer. I told her that's what a lot of us want to know and despite many years of combined searching none of us had any idea yet. I just got an anwser yesterday that said, "Well, there has to be an answer someplace, a document or something no one has looked for." You know sometimes I get very angry at people whothrow you a name, with no date or places and expect a complete 10 generation read-out. Think I'm getting too old for this on line genealogy. In the good-old-days people were polite and helpful and the hobby was a delightful way to meet people and investigate ancestors. Now, everyone wants instant gratification. Maybe we should all go back to snail mail and have to wait for three weeks for an answer (if one came at all). There are a lot of people interested in the Monroe side now, too. If you'd like their names and E-Mail addresses, I'll send them to you, although they don't know any more than we do about Lewis. They're still trying to figure out who were the parents of the first 3-4 kids of RRobert and Rosannah Puckett Monroe. I'm beginning to think the same problem is true with Lewis' parents. Maybe those first kids belonged to him and another wife, or her and another husbnad or they were nieces and nephews of one or the other. That is I'm assuming that Elijah and Nancy Hunter were the parents of the rest.... which is also a dangerous thing to do. Well, my great-grandson just came for a visit so I'll close this out. Please excuse the typos.... he wants to play his Math Blaster. Let's keep in touch. It's been a long time since we've really chatted. Earlene
Anyone working on the Cox family? My husband descends from Bruce Cox born 1801. He was a son of Samuel and Catherine Bruce Cox of Knox County. Debie Cox
I have a Mary Magdeline Hunley, born 1855 to Benjamin Hunley and Rachel Evans. Benjamin and Rachel are both buried in the New Loyston Cem in Union Co., TN. I also have siblings for Mary, but no data on marriage. Let me know if I can help you further. This Mary would be sister to my great-great grandfather, Ayers Hunley. Carol
Hi Earlene, Any interesting breakthroughs lately? I have been writing to a descendent of William Arch Atkins, and found out a bit of their descendents. Still no leads on the mystery of who were the Atkins boys' parents though from this end. One of these days, maybe. I have been going through three FTM CDs of early VA records, but nothing too likely yet. It's all too early to connect at this point. Karen
