Another source to watch for grave information is Billiongraves.com. They also have pictures and information on individuals. Sometimes things are on both, sometimes on one or the other. Thanks again for this information. I hope we will find out more about Mr. Helms. Yes, I saw this listing in Findagrave awhile back and had a discussion about it with someone. We did agree it is the same person. I haven't seen the stone but I did request a photo earlier this month. I hope someone will add one. Her age (68 yr.) from the obit would have made her born in 1865 rather than the 1868 written on the death cert. But the informant was a stepson I believe and may not have known or just wrote 1868 because he was knew she was 68 yr. old and had that number on his mind and/or couldn't subtract correctly. The birth month is also different. I also haven't found a 1930 census for James Wilhelms for some reason. If anyone has that please let me know. May be listed under a misspelling. -----Original Message----- From: ohno2311 Sent: Thursday, August 29, 2013 3:31 PM To: tnunion@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [TNUNION] Divorce records Phoebe is probably the same person shown as Feda C. Phoebe is probably the same person shown as Feda C. Helms. The entry on Find A Grave matches Phoebe's date of death however the dates of birth do not match Phoebe's death cert. The memorial dates agree with those listed in Footprints 2000. According to Phoebe Morton Helm's death certificate and obitaury she was married to James Helms at the time of her death. I found where Lafayette Turner died in 1917 so he was an earlier husband. Phoebe Catherine Morton was the daughter of George Washington Morton and Margaret Lewis. Phoebe is buried in Lewis-Butcher Cemetery. She died Feb 9, 1933. I have her married to: James Helms, Richard Crawford and Lafayette Turner. The marriage to Lafayette took place after 1902. He is buried in the same cemetery as Phoebe, so thinking he was spouse 3. Phoebe's grandparents were David Morton and Nancy Catherine James and Jesse Lewis and Mary Y. Polly Thompson. Not much else I can share. Hope this helps. James Wilhelms (sometimes Helms) died in July of 1936. The death certificate states that he's divorced. The divorced wife is listed on the certificate as Harriet Bolton. Just trying to prove if this is the same James that was married to Margaret Warwick and Pheobe Morton. They both passed away. Then I think he married Harriet. I haven't been able to find her later or an obituary for her. But I'm looking for the divorce record to see if might fall into the right dates. Pheobe died in 1933. So he would have married and divorced from 1933 -36. There is a Union Co. marriage license for a James Helms and H. V. Bolton in June 1933....just a few months after Pheobe's death. That wouldn't be that uncommon. His obituary doesn't mention any of the wives and I know he outlived 2 of them. I did see on Ancestry a Helen V. Helms/James Helms in Mobile AL in 1952 but they're not the same since James' death cert. starts all of my questions when it mentions the divorced wife's name in 1933. Perhaps someone is related to either James or Harriet and has a answer/proof one way or the other. The line I'm working on is James and Margaret but I wanted to complete his marriages too. If anyone knows more about Phoebe Morton Helms I'd love to hear more about her too. I’m looking for a divorce record in Union Co TN...Mostly likely 1933-1936. Does anyone know where I can find the records? Are they online anywhere? Or is there an office I could write or call to try to locate them? Thanks for any help...

TN area. Have a death cert. for a Pheobe Morton Helms, March 1938. Married to a James Wilhelms. Says she was buried in Morton Cem. But I can't find one in Union Co Cem Assoc., Find a Grave etc for that area. Know it could be a small family plot but a lot of those are online now and this was the 30's so hoping to still find it. These Smiths are certainly hard to locate . my gr gr grand father was the 3yr old whose parents are James A married to Sarah A Wright. for some reason James is no longer with them at the age of 13. Any answers to his whereabouts?Do you know who James A parents are? Many think the are Aaron Fairfax but I do not think this correct. All records indicate the were born in Tenn. Also, have you checked 1900 MO census? Many times an entire family moves to another state. Based on info you gave, I checked 1880 Union Co, TN records for a James in that age group and I found a James S. Kitts 7 years old, s/o Davidson and Elizabeth Kitts. Davidson was a basket maker. I also found a James N. Kitts, s/o William and Elizabeth age 10. Hope you can use this info in your search. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The ADKINS family which has both Archibald Mullins -- Nancy ADKINSand Elijah ADKINS and Elizabeth MULLINS, have parents listed in my files as Louis ADKINS 1795-B . Grainer Co. TN, and ELizabeth MONROE B 5 Dec. 1794 in Grainger Co., TN. Nancy-Archibald mar 8 Sept. 1827 in Grainger and Elijah-Elizabeth Mar 1 May 1835 in Knox Co., Ten. The ADKINS are traceable to Virginia, altho" there has always been a question about if ELijah and Nancy Ann HUNTER were his parents. There are 3 or 4 children listed on papers , census, etc., that do not explain them.... children from a first marriage of either one of the parents, orphans of older sibs. or ???? This is where the Indian stories come from, but I haven't been able to prove that since I started doing this frustrating work in 1975. ELijah and Nancy Ann's family if found in Ten. records and her family goes back a few more generations . Both of them are born in Montgomary Co., VA. Of course both families are found idn the D.A.R., and S.A.R. -----Original Message----- From: tnunion-request <tnunion-request@rootsweb.com> To: tnunion <tnunion@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sat, Apr 6, 2013 2:59 am Subject: TNUNION Digest, Vol 8, Issue 14 Today's Topics: 1. She was born in 1813, not otally impossible for a family of several children. I have not seen any olid proof that they are siblings, but this is what I was told by a couple f different genealogists back in the 60s when I got started on the family. 2 different people from Knox & Union counties told me this, and while I aven't found anything to prove it, I haven't found anything to disprove it ither yet. Another family rumor that I've been looking at is the possibility that the ullens family were Melungeons.
