    1. Union County Update
    2. First off let me say that we've added some stuff to the family section and also to the census pages. Sorry I'm just now getting around to telling you. Now as for the Church project we were working on. I have yet to get it off the ground. I have taken ads in papers and everything else I could think of to get church histories. Maynardville.Com even offered every church a free homepage. We got two replies! Not to be beaten I have gotten some church photos and have started creating the church homepages anyway. My thinking is that eventually churches will get embarrassed by not having anything on their page and send me some history of their church. So if you want to see pictures (and a few histories) of the churches your families went to have a look at our church section. Go to our homepage: http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnunion And near the bottom you'll find the church section link. If any of you know anything about any of these churches or any others send me the information. It would be great to put some history on these pages. And once again we have the Historical Society to thank for these great pictures. More are on the way too. On a lighter note, my Maynardville.Com page got hacked last Friday night. Got up Saturday morning and my message boards had turned to porn! Don't go looking now, I've already fixed it. Odd thing is though, I had more visitors with the porn than I ever had before. Maybe that's why Union County isn't sending me church histories. Chip Union County TnGenWeb

    2. << There is a Liberty Hill in Grainger County, close to Washburn. Hope that helps a little. Sorry I can't be more specific. >> The Liberty Hill you are looking for is indeed in Grainger County not far from the Union County line. The reson you don't see a street number is because it is very rural. To be honest I'm not sure there are street numbers yet. I think they still use a Rural Route. Check in Grainger County though and you'll find several Haynes, and Boruff names. Also check in Lone Mountain in Claiborne County. Several of the Haynes that lived there were cousins to the ones in Liberty Hill. Chip Union County TngenWeb

    2. Robert & Lori McPhetridge
    3. Hello Renee! I was reading your post were you mention the following: "Joseph was prevously married to Rozzey Boruff date of death-1898- But he remarried in 1899- To Elnora Mcphetridge." I was wondering if you had any more information about Elnora McPhetridge? Our family name is McPhetridge and the brother of one of our ancestors lived in Union Co. They came from Grainger Co. and Randolph Co. NC before that. Our ancestor moved from Grainger Co. to Laurel Co. KY. Thank you!   Lori McPhetridge

    1. Re: Liberty Hill??????
    2. Renee, I don't know if there is a Liberty Hill in Union Co, but for sure there is one in Wilson Co TN. It borders with Dekalb Co TN. If there was a mistake, the reason there was no street address, is because there are none. you live up one Hollow or another one. Let me see<scractching head> Chicken Hollow, Goose Creek, Tater Hollow, etc. Florence << I just received my gggrandfathers death certificate Joseph Morris Capps and it states on there that his residence at the time of death was Liberty Hill, TENN.
