One of three brothers and one daughter, Lorenzo and Rachel and the three sons, Paris Luther, James Peter and Morris moved from Tennessee to Grant County OK several months before the 'Strip' run and in 1903 received a grant for a claim in Grant county, between Medford and Renfro. James Peter was my grandfather. I have Paris's death certificate and some information on Sally. Also pictures since Rachel and Lorenzo are buried in Anadarko OK and Roger relatives still live there. Thank you for the marriage record, I had looked everywhere in Kansas and Oklahoma but didn't think of looking in Tennessee. Please correspond with me about Sally's family. Also I am looking for proof that Peter Beeler [who married Lucinda Sharp d/f John Honnas Sharp of the famous Sharp family]is descended from John Beeler and Hannah Vandergriff. (Peter and Lucinda are the parents of Lorenzo) That would make them grandparents of Paris, James and Morris. Write me, cousin. There is the following marriage recorded in the book Union County, Tennessee Marriages 1901 - 1916: Sallie Ann Pierce 17 to Paris L. Beeler 1-23-1901 by Anthony Keck J.P. Does anyone know if this Sallie Ann Pierce is the daughter of Joshua Pierce and Louisa Fletcher? Does anyone have any info on Paris L. Beeler ? Thanks. Steve

    1. OK it was magic
    2. To all of you who have written me since this morning asking how I did that, simple, it was magic. Glad you liked it. Wanna try again? This one is a little better most of the time. Pick a number between 50 and 99 (any number). But make sure that both numbers in your two digit number are different and both are even numbers. Then go to: http://members.aol.com/morom01/del/answer2.htm OK that's it I'll leave everyone alone now. Glad you all had fun. P.S. if any of you all have any of these send them to me. I collect mind tricks. Chip

    3. Michelle---my notes indicate that Isaac Newton's parents were Henry Scott Gentry (3Mar1855/17Nov1925) and Carley Walker(25Feb1855/29July1920)--both are buried in the Miller Chapel Church Cemetery. Henry Scott Gentry's parents were Addison (ca1823/1876) and Rebecca (Rice) Gentry (1823/1876). Addison's parents were Isaac (1799/1866) and Elizabeth (Lewis) Gentry(1799/ca1880). Isaac and Elizabeth are also buried in the Miller Chapel Cemetery. If you need anything further please let me know. This George is the son of George and Tabatha Rice. George is the > brother of Henry and this is my husband's line. Barbara, I have been meaning to write to you for quite some time. I believe you have confused the two original Snodderly lines in East TN. Maybe I'm wrong, but I believe you have as I've noticed the same thing on your Web Site. Your husband's Henry was Henry, Jr. the son of Henry, Sr. and this Henry you're commenting about was named Henry Rice Snodderly the son of George/Tabitha Rice and grandson of John/Elizabeth Gibbs. In fact on your Web Site, you show a John Gregory Snodderly whom I've never heard of as the father of Henry who appears to have been Henry, Sr. who was then the father of Henry, Jr. and Daniel etc. According to my information and all of the reliable research data I've seen on the Snodderly lines it goes as follows: Georg Philip Schnatterly (varied spellings), the original immigrant, to Philip Snotherly who was then the father of the two brothers who migrated into TN from NC. Those two brothers were John and Henry, Sr. John (Elizabeth Gibbs) came to the area of TN sometime around the 1790's perhaps earlier. Henry, Sr. waited until after his mother's death and came to Anderson Co. in about 1816 where he bought land. ALL Snodderly's in East TN originated from one of these two brothers. Other questionable information. You show Henry Jr. married to Sarah "Sallie" McCoy in 1826. Where is the evidence of that? As you noted she was born in about 1814 which would have made her about 12 years old in 1826! There is compelling evidence and Oral History which indicates that Henry, Jr. was NOT MARRIED during the years in which he was resolving his father's Will. That would include the period after Henry Sr. died in 1825 into the early 1830's. In fact, considering birth control methods, etc. it is HIGHLY unlikely that they had a child in 1826 and then waited until 1833 for the birth of the next child, Anna. It is more likely that they married a short time before the birth of Anna in 1833. I suspect you indicate this early marriage because of the Henry who was living with Henry, Jr. during the Census of 1850 and who migrated to AR during the early 1850's. There is VERY COMPELLING evidence that this Henry WAS NOT the son of Henry, Jr. First of all, NONE of the Bible Records kept by Henry's children indicated a brother named Henry. They very carefully listed the names of children who died including at least one you don't have on your list named, Peggy (probably a nickname for Margaret which was most likely the name of Sarah McCoy's mother, Margaret Poore). If one exists, I have never seen a Bible which Henry Jr. actually left so I have been left with a couple of those which his children kept. Secondly, this Henry was listed OUT OF BIRTH ORDER in the Census of 1850. The Census takers did this to show that the person was NOT the child of the head of household. Thirdly, this Henry left home shortly after his marriage in 1850. That action was highly unusual as Henry, Jr. gave land to ALL of his children including the females. Why would the eldest son leave home with so much land to inherit? Fourthly, there is evidence that Henry, Jr. was very desperate for a son even before this Henry left home. I do not wish to discuss this specific issue at this time, but I may be willing to discuss the evidence after we've corresponded for awhile. Quite frankly, I suspect (as a theory) that this Henry was named for Henry, Sr. and may have been the son of one of Henry, Jr.'s sisters. In fact, that is probably the reason that ALL of the family left East TN for Ohio EXCEPT for Henry, Jr. and Daniel. I have no argument that Henry Jr. raised this Henry, but considering all of the evidence I do not believe he was his son. Some other questions. You show the name of Henry, Jr.'s daughter Anna as Anna Susannah. Could you please tell me the source of this information. This was my gg grandmother and I have never seen that name anywhere. One of the younger daughters by Serena Clear was named Sarah Susannah. Would they likely have named two daughters by that name? > I have found that the Snodderly's that lived in Union, Campbell, Anderson, > etc., are all related. You are absolutely correct. They were descendants of one of the two brothers I've mentioned above. Please don't take offense to anything I've said. I am merely interested in accurate records of my family lines particularly those which appear in a public forum. Your site is quite attractive. Someone has spent a lot of time building that! Thanks. I hope to hear from you. -- Terry L. Hutchison - "In order to understand ancestors one must first understand HISTORY! Genealogy is more than the gathering of names and numbers!"

She may still be living. Carole, maybe we ought to just get a direct connection! I believe you're asking about the person I know about as Cleo Snodderly. She would be the only Snodderly that I know about who might be still living by similar name. If so, Cleo was the daughter of W. "Dink" Snodderly/Leotes Carroll. That line is as follows: "Dink's" parents were Lewis Snodderly/Nancy Hutcheson > Daniel Snodderly/Rachel Whitton > Henry, Sr./Mary Whitson etc. and the remainder of the upward Snodderly line. Nancy Hutcheson's parents were John Hutcheson/Sarah Irick. I do not know about the Carroll line. Now, "Dink" had two daughters. The other daughter was named Mattie and she married a Carr. She was living as of a couple of years ago, but I don't know about now. I don't have specific birth dates, but "Dink" would have been born around the late 1860's or 1870's and he died in 1954. Mattie was born certainly before the 1920's maybe even before 1910 as she was quite old as of a couple of years ago. If you get any good reliable information that isn't over the list, please let me know. -- Terry L. Hutchison - "In order to understand ancestors one must first understand HISTORY! 1. Re: Snodderly-Hunley
    2. Well, Terry, I guess at some point we will connect! Creola was a school teacher (so I've been told). She married Walter Hunley (he was born in 1904 or so) and they had one son, Darrell Hunley. At some point, she wrote a book/paper about the Hunley family. If she is still living, she would be quite old.......in her 90's. The last our family heard was that she remarried after Walter's death to a Wallace. I looked in the SSDI and found a Creola Wallace, born 8/17/1901 and died 9/4/1996 in Norris/Anderson, TN. This might be her, but don't know for sure. Never heard her called anything else but Creola. Our connection? Walter Hunley was my great-uncle. Thanks for getting back to me. Carol

    3. Thank you Barbara: I believe that the George you mentioned is the correct one inasmuch as I found George/Milly in the Campbell Co census in 1860. I don't have the 1850 Campbell co census to check there. The evidence that I have for Bratcher being George's son is that in the 1880 Campbell co census, Milly is living with the family and is listed as Bratcher's mother. Evidently, George had died. Now, I just need to find Milly's maiden name and the maiden name of Bratcher's wife Malinda. Bratcher and Malinda were married around 1874 but their marriage doesn't appear in the Campbell, Union, or Anderson co marriage records so I have no idea where they were married. The 1880 census says that Milly was born in KY so maybe Bratcher married somewhere in KY. Thank you again and I will definitely check out the web site. Ron

    2. There are some Gentrys burried at the Miller Cemetery on Maynardville Hwy. You might check there. I was there over the weekend and saw some of the graves that were there. Some of the headstones are so old you can hardly read the names but if you try really hard you can figure them out. I have a great-aunt that married a Gentry. His name was William Moss Gentry and hers was Nola Sharp. They are buried in the cemetery at Union Primitive Baptist Church. Hope this was helpful. Sandy lscarr@aol.com
