    3. Dear Betty and Judd, How great to hear from you and to know that we at least share something else in common - genealogy. Yes, I had a great time at the reunion. I thought everyone looked wonderful and it was good to see that so many of us are in good health. We will be moving back to Knoxville in 2001, probably the Powell area as my brothers (4) would be conveniently located to me. Life has been good to me, and we are looking forward to retirement. Ginny Mathena Johnson, one of our classmates, is the librarian at the Union County Historical Society. She is a volunteer and only works on Sunday afternoons. Have you been there? If not, you should go. She is very knowledgeable reading use of the library, etc. We are going to Salt Lake City in November to do some research. I think that Judd graduated from Fountain City Grammar School. I have been corresponding with Ben Burnette via e-mail regarding a 50th year reunion of the grammar school. I certainly would want to attend that milestone. My best to both of you. My husband and I both are 1954 graduates of Central High School and were at the reunion. I remember looking through the names and thinking since I have started my research how many familiar names were in the annual. It sounds like you had a better time then I did. Judd and Betty Evans Webb ==== TNUNION Mailing List ==== Volunteers are always welcome at the Union County TnGenWeb Site. Also check at the TnGenWeb main site. Lots of resources there. Maybe you can help out by transcribing some records.

    1. Samuel Hensley and Allace Evie Clark
    2. moogee
    3. I am searching for information on the family of Samuel Hensley (abt 1835) and Allace Evie Clark (1851) who lived in Union County. I have children for Samuel listed as: Jane (1/22/1862-6/9/1920) John R. (1869) David D. (6/26/1970-6/19/1942) Nancy (1872) Louisa (1874) George W. (6/18/1873-8/11/1902) Scott (9/12/1880-_____) Jane is my g-g grandmother and married Tom Neeley. She is buried next to her brother David D. Hensley, his wife Tishey Hensley, and their brother George W. Hensley in the Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery, Lenoir City, Loudon Co., TN. David was a well-known Baptist minister in the Loudon County area. Did Samuel have more than one wife? (Allace would have been 11 years old when Jane was born.) Who were the parents of Samuel and Allace and where were they born? Any information would be greatly appreciated. 2. A new message, "surname," was posted by Alex Horvath on Thu, 26 Aug 1999 Surname: Monday, Munday --- NAME: Alex Horvath EMAIL: horvath@wtco.net DATE: Aug 26 1999 QRYTEXT: I am looking for anyone who knows of the surname of Monday. My gg grandmother was Melvina E. MONDAY Cook. She was born in Union Co. Her parents were William MONDAY and Mildred Graves. Melvina had three brothers named Eli, Calaway, James. William MONDAY is the son of James MONDAY and Elizabeth "Betsy" Hamilton. I found James in 1795 tax list and the 1830-40-50 Claiborne Co census. I was also able to find William in the 1850(Claiborne Co.) and the 1870 Union Co. census, also able to find William and his family in the 1870 census. Does anyone know of these people.

    3. Thanks for sending this info but I am already skeptical. I was reading some entries for TN and NC and found one lady that has loose papers that were pulled from two counties and haven't ever been microfilmed and she has them. Wonder how she got them? How does one go about getting records like that? Has anyone bought anything from this site? Would like to know how the exchange of money takes place. 2. This is on a personal note. A friend of mine, (best friend) from high school e-mailed me tonight. First time I've heard from him since graduation. It got me thinking about another friend we had. This friend moved from Union County and went to Knox County schools. The bad thing is that this friend was a girl. So the name has been changed assuming she is married. Any of you have any school annuals from Knox County High Schools? The year would be 1983 and 1984. We can find most all of us from Union County but this friend has evaded me for years. If I can find several of us, I'd like to meet somewhere for Christmas. If any of you have Knox County School annuals from these two years e-mail me at morom01@aol.com Thanks, Chip
