    3. FOUST, FLORA MAE (BROCK) - age 89 of Halls, passed away April 17, 2009 at Willow Ridge/Sunbridge of Maynardville. She was a member of Texas Valley Baptist Church for 78 years. Preceded in death by her husband, Rex C. Foust and her grandson, Eric Stooksbury. Survivors, daughter's and sons-in-law, Shelba and Glenn Stooksbury, Linda and Fredie Mantooth; grandchildren, LeAnn Stooksbury, Luke Mantooth and fiance Amanda Brewer; great grandchildren, Beth and Justin Stooksbury; special niece and husband, Virginia and Herbert Buckner and many friends. To the very special staff at Willow Ridge and Amedisys Hospice, many thanks for the wonderful care and love given to our mother.     3. LYNCH, RUTH J. (WILSON) - age 88, of Monroe, MI passed away Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Aspen Grove Assisted Living Center in Lambertville, MI. Ruth was born January 31, 1921 in Speedwell, TN the daughter of the late George W. and Mary Love (Hall) Wilson. Ruth was a graduate of Powell Valley High School in Speedwell. She later went on to attend Business College and on August 19, 1966 Ruth earned her degree in clerical skills through a development and training program administered by Manpower. On July 29, 1940 in Tennessee Ruth married her beloved husband Kern Adrian Lynch. Sadly he preceded her in death on September 10, 1962. Ruth began working in 1964 as a clerk for the Top Value Stamp Redemption Center in Monroe where she worked for 10 years. In 1974 Ruth went to work as a secretary for La Z Boy, retiring in 1985. A longtime member of First Baptist Church in Monroe, Ruth served her church in many capacities. She was a Deaconess, ran the nursery, and was the Sunday School Treasurer. Ruth was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 226. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, sewing, quilting and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ruth is survived by her loving twin daughters; Wanda L. (William) Weston of E. Lansing, MI and Wilma S. (Thomas) Wallis of Muskegon, MI; 6 cherished grandchildren: Jimmy Howard Jr. of Sylvania, OH, Linda (Joe) Paradysz of Lambertville, MI, Kasey and Corey Wallis of Muskegon, MI, Killian and Brennan Weston of E. Lansing, MI; 7 treasured great grandchildren; and 1 sister, Hazel Wilson Hatcher of Knoxville, TN. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Kern Lynch; a daughter, Mary Melba (Lynch) Howard and a son in law, Jimmy Howard, Sr., as well as 7 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-7 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe. On Monday, April 20, 2009 she will lie instate at First Baptist Church in Monroe from 10:00 AM until funeral services celebrating her life at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Dr. Kenneth Dunn will officiate.     3. ATKINS, SONDRA ANN SHOFFNER - age 45 of Claxton went home to be with her Heavenly Father on April 3, 2009 after a long, but courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ed and Edna Shoffner, Troy and Cletus Daniel, Elbert Shoffner; brother, Elbert Lee Shoffner; niece, Miranda Jade Shoffner; nephew, Brandon Eugene Shoffner and former mother-in-law and friend, Audimae Atkins. She is survived by her former husband, Jeff Atkins; three children, Tiffany Atkins, Tabitha Atkins and Jeffery Atkins, and precious granddaughter, Bridgett Atkins all of Knoxville, Tn. She was the daughter of Willie A. and Velma Cofer of Claxton; brothers, Mitchell and wife Vickie Shoffner of Claxton, James and wife Missy Shoffner of Douglas, Georgia, Kelly and wife Tammi Shoffner of Claxton; sisters, Diane and husband Mike Pride of Knoxville, Barbara and husband Randy Moore of Union County, Tn.; fourteen nieces and nephews and thirteen great nieces and nephews and a host of aunts, uncles; special friends, Danny Johlin and Bubbles and other family and friends. Sondra was a very special daughter, sister and mother. Family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, April 6, 2009 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with the funeral following at 8:00 PM with the Rev. Randy Moore and Rev. Denver Evans officiating.     3. DAVIS, ELMER "SHOT" - age 73 of Maynardville, passed away Tuesday at 10:30 at his residence. He attended of Ailor Dale Baptist Church and was a member of the DAV, American Legion and the VFW. Preceded in death by his parents, Clint W. Davis and Nervie Davis; brothers, Kenneth and Ed Davis and sister, Ruth Kelley. He is survived by his wife, Icy Davis and brothers, Kester and William Davis. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 8 pm in the Halls Chapel of Mynatt Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Horner officiating. Family and friends will meet Friday at 3:15 pm at the funeral home and proceed to Union Primitive Baptist Church for interment at 4 pm with full military honors provided by Tri County Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Dusty, Johnnie, Glen, Larry and EJ Lay and Eddie Buckner.
