PROFFITT, GRACE ALICE - age 90, of Maynardville, passed away Wednesday April 29, 2009 at St. Mary's Medical Center following a short illness with her niece and great niece at her side. She was a long time member of Alder Springs Baptist Church. She was born August 6, 1918 in Sevierville, TN to Charlie and Laura McCarter Proffitt. She resided with her parents and sister, Stella Martha, in Concord, TN before moving to Maynardville. As an adult, Grace worked as a bookkeeper for Southern Coal and Oil Co. in Knoxville, TN and helped raise her niece, Susan Belitz Coe. In later years, Grace took care of her parents and worked at the Union County Senior Citizens Center. In 2007, she retired from her position as a cook and enjoyed activities at the center and in the company of her many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Laura Proffitt; and sister, Stella. She leaves behind, her loving niece, Susan Coe; and other family members, Robert, Abby, John, Robin, Jim, Mary, Kay, Rose, Jon, Laura, Scott, Chris, Mary, Tom, Cindy, William, Katherine, Jack, Carl and Rosemary. KELLY, LUCILLE C. - age 94 of Plainview, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2009. She was the oldest member of Clear Branch Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Kyle G. Kelly. Parents, Bill and Hattie Coram; grandson, Stephen Satterfield and son-in-law, Roy Satterfield. Brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Ruby Coram.
