I just saw your post and I would love to help you out what I can about Hubert Collins. I didnt know Hubert had a son Lawrence. Hubert supposedly had a brother named Andrew Jackson Collins who was my great grandfather. Andrew's son Claude Lee Collins was my grandfather. My maiden name was COLLINS also. I would be happy to help you out with what I have. I too am having a hard time trying to find my Andrew Collins family line. Hope to hear from you. Hello, We are traveling down to Gatlinburg this weekend for a week. We will also be trecking around and looking for relation in these counties who come down from Wm. & Patsey Cooper Hunley mar. in Grainger Co. 1805. My basic goal is to find where in VA Wm. was born. My husband descends through son Benjamin > Jordan > George > Nelson > Nelson Jr. "Butch". If you get hold of this note and want to meet up, give a yell on line and I hope to read and contact you back while we are down there... provided I can get on a puter :-) Ruth in IL
Does anybody know the full name of his third wife Irene? I found her birth & death dates on the Social Security Death index, but don't know her maiden name. Thanks. Karen PS: I have a lot of data on the descendents of Richard & Lewis/Louis Atkins who married Monroe sisters in 1805 & 1804 in Grainger county if anybody is related to either of them. Richard moved into Anderson County, and some of his descendants ended up in Missouri.

Kanaday. It intrigued me because she evidently committed suicide and was so young. After some research I found that her maiden name was Dyer. She was born October 22, 1890 and died June 22, 1908. The tombstone says she was the Wife of Boss Kanaday. I did find that they were married in December 1907. The tombstone inscription is interesting. It has the following inscription: Lillie M. Kanaday Wife of Boss Kanaday Born October 22, 1890 Met death by her own hand. June 22, 1908 "When I am dead and out of my head and my face you cannot see. Keep this and remember the one that died for the love of you." The tombstone is on Find-A-Grave if you would like to see it. Perhaps we misread. Anyway, I was curious about her and her husband Boss Kanaday. It sounds interesting. Thank you. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
