Hello Union Co Members, The Surnames I am researching: WYRICK, COFFMAN, TURNER, MONROE, THORP, BAKER Jeremiah Wyrick married Aug 26, 1838 to Anna Coffman in Grainger Co with a bondman of Henry Wyrick. 1850 Jeremiah and Anna in Grainger Co 1860 Jeremiah and Anna in Union Co 1864 Jeremiah married Mary Ann Thorp in Union Co 1868 Jeremiah married Ruth/Rutha Turner Monroe (former wife of John L. Monroe) 1870 Jeremiah and Rutha in Union Co with Rutha's children. Jeremiah's youngest son, Cyrus, is living with the J. C. Baker family near by. Jeremiah's daughters living in a separate house near by. 1880 Jeremiah and Rutha in Union Co (last trace of them) I do not know the relationship of Henry to Jeremiah. Thank you for any help. Kathy, I've never been able to find any connection to my Joseph P. Allen, b 1818 NC, and Joseph Allen who married Martha Sharp. After Joseph P. Allen's 1st wife (Frances/Fanny Jane Bradley) died in 1881, he remarried Agnes Sharp, who was 18 to his 63. Together they had five children. Do you have any further info about Joseph and Martha Sharp Allen, i.e. who his parents were, where born, etc. Joseph P. Allen was a s/o another Joseph Allen, b. c1778-82, NC, who married Anna/Annie Turner, b c1786. They lived in Buncombe and Yancey Counties, NC. Hope this helps. Joyce

Ron, my grandmother was Susanah Yadon Haggard, the daughter of Benjamin A. Yadon. Benjamin settled in Rockcastle County, KY. He too was descended from Joseph Yadon. In fact, I have been told that every Yadon in this country can be traced to Joseph and Susannah Mary. I'm interested in churches in that area also. My ggrandfather, Solomon Peter EVANS lived in the Long Hollow / Dark Hollow area (not far from Big Ridge). Two of his sons were Methodist Preachers (William Thomas EVANS & Robert Lee EVANS), but my grandfather, Joseph Franklin EVANS was Baptist (maybe converted after marrying my grandmother, Minnie Catherine HUMPHREY). I think he attended Byram's Fork Baptist Church and Mount Olive Baptist Church.
