    3. Posted on: Union Co. Tn Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Tn/Union/812 Surname: ------------------------- I am researching Union Co Evans line. In response to the previous post, Judy you are correct in that Summerville was an Evans. She was a dtr of Jesse and Nancy (Counts) Evans, one of 8 sibs some of which you mentioned in your post. FYI, Summer's older brother John William Evans (and wife Nancy Jane Colvin Evans) had a dtr he named Summerfield/Summerville also, born 18Jun1859, also in Union Co. This Evans line crosses many names I see throughout the message board - Swafford, Butcher Janeway, Hammock. James Evans marr Elizabeth Swafford 20Feb1850 Anderson Co TN Sarah Evans marr James M. Butcher c.1860. No other info. Rufus Evans marr Matilda Hammock 9May1876. I have a question - Does anyone have any info on the John W. Evans/Nancy Jane Colvin marr in Union TN, c.21Sep1856? or anything on (my GGG Grandparents), Jesse Evans(b.1801 in NC) and Nancy Counts(b.1808 in Grainger TN), marr in Grainger TN 20Apr1825? Regards, Everett

    3. Posted on: Union Co. Tn Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tn/Union/809 Surname: Walker, Bryant ------------------------- In the Union County Tennessee Marriages 1854 - 1925, transcribed by Betty and Sonja Collins, Martha Jean Carter and Wanda Underwood Waring in 1997, Laura Walker md A. J. Bryant on 15 Nov 1894. In the transcribed Union Co census for 1900, Andrew is shown as born Jan 1874, Laura July 1879 with children William H. b Jan 1897, Thula L. b Feb 1898 and Talitha C. b Sept 1899. In the 1910 Union Co census, although it shows they have 3 children living, only Wm and Talitha are shown in the home. Don't know where Thula L. is living. Andrew was born in Tn, his father in KY, mother in TN - living next door to them in the 1910 census is a Hiram Bryant 70 years old, which I suspect is his father as he was born in KY, his wife in TN and they have been md for 44 years. Hiram and wife Elizabeth are also in the 1900 census. I don't find them in the 1880 Union Co census. I believe Laura to be the dau of John W. and Lucinda ?. In the 1880 Union Co census, John is 52, Lucinda 45, with several children including a Laura 10 months old, born in July, which would fit your Laura. If you want me to do any further lookups for you, let me know. My email address is [email protected] Besides the marriage book, I have transcribed census records from 1860 - 1920 for Union Co and 1860-70-80 for Grainger Co.

    2. Judy Dunkel
    3. Posted on: Union Co. Tn Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tn/Union/808 Surname: Ailor ------------------------- In the book of Union County marriages, just as Dan reported, there is a Betty S. Ailor? (Sailor) md to Joe Robinson on 11 Mar 1899. In the transcribed Union Co census for 1900, Joseph Robinson is shown as born Jan 1880 20 years old, md l year to an Elizabeth b June 1884 - 16 yrs old. Also living in the home is a Lucindy Wood 34 yrs old, b Mar 1866, md for 4 years with 2 children, shown as mother in law and a Matilda Taylor, b. July 1890- 9 yrs old shown as sister in law. I do not find Joe and Betty in the 1910 Union Co census. This family is living next door to a John Robinson 45 yrs old and wife Sousanna 42, who have been md for 24 yrs, had 8 children, 6 living, and the children in the home are Lissie 15, Martha 13, Willie 10, Ethel 9. Back to the marriage book, there is a Lucinda Collins md to a John Woods on 12 May 1896, so this could be Lucindy as it would fit the 4 year marriage. Don't know where John is as it does not show her as a widow or divorced. I looked for John Woods in the 1900 census and I think I found him living in the home with Benjamin and Sarah(Woods) Wyrick. There is a John Woods shown there, born Jan 1874, 26 years old, Md 4 years, but there is no wife listed. He is shown as a brother in law to Benjamin, also a George Woods 22, also brother in law living with this family. There is another John Wood, md to a Lucinda, but she was a Perry and they have been married for 35 years. Believe John and George may be their sons. I could not find any other Ailor - Robinson marriages listed in the book which covers marriages in Union Co from 1856-1925. I hope this doesn't confuse you and it helps you in your research. If you would like more information or lookups, email me at [email protected]

    3. Attention: Nancy Riddle I show that Rhoda Ellen Stiner b. may 1855 in Union County married Thomas L. Riddle b. Feb 1851 in Tenn. They were married 18 mar 1879 in Union County. Had a least two children known as Charles b. aug 1883 and Margaret b. Mar 1889. This was Rhoda's second marriage. Her first marriage to Jesse Cain ended with his early death in 1875. If this is the information you were looking for, either contact me on the Union County site or directly. Dan R. Nancy Riddle wrote: > > Posted on: Union Co.
