    1. [TNUNION] Looking for information
    2. Nioma Atkins Nicely: who was her mother, who was Mr. Nicely, and when in the 1940's did she die? I know that her dad was married several times, so I am not sure where this daughter fits in. I've been reading the book about Chester Burton Atkins "Chet", who's descended from the same Atkins family I am (although the book leaves out his grandfather Sylvester's first wife & 6 kids--was it politcally incorrect to be the father of 12 children when the book was written so the author thought it appropriate to completely leave out the mention of the first wife & kids?), and I used to correspond with his dad, many, many years ago. Thanks, Karen

    1. Re: [TNUNION] 1851 will of George Johnson
    2. Gosh, I have so many George Johnson's in my database. The only one that I have that comes close is George Johnson, Sr. married to Nancy Bruckner. George, according to my information, died Jan. 18, 1852 in Union County, TN. He was the son of George Presley Johnson, son of James Johnson, Jr., James Johnson, Sr., Benjamin, William, Edmund Johnson. George Johnson was my 4th great grandfather, but I do not have a will for him. 1. Re: [TNUNION] Seeking a divorce record, and a marriage record
    2. Actually, it was formed in 1850, but there was no census taken for Union county. It wasn't until after the Civil war that marriage records got started. (I'm thinking that according to a gr-grandfather's childhood account of the battles going "up the valley & down the valley", it probably managed to burn the courthouse at least once. This couple divorced around 1870, when each of them was living with their respective parent/parents.
