Carol, Chesney is a small town not far from both Maynardville and Luttrell. Interesting that country music singer Kenny Chesney is from Luttrell. I would suspect a family connection to the town of Chesney. Check on Google Maps, it will show it's relationship to to Maynardville and Luttrell. The town of Chesney may have been established a couple of generations or so earlier. I have a Chesney family or two in my extended family, but no known relationship to Kenny (doesn't mean there isn't one, of course), Chet Atkins is kin (used to write to his dad many years ago--his half sister was my great grandmother, and I finally got the Roy Acuff connection tied in (through the Sharp family), and there's a musical Smith in there somewhere, though I haven't tracked down yet. Personally, I didn't get the musical talent (lucky I can play the radio), My takent, I believe, is genealogy. I think I have our relationship figured out It is from Irene's husband Sam who's mother was Emily V Haynes sister to my great grandmother Mary Jane Haynes Perry Irene's husband Sam would be my 1st. cousin twice removed according to my family tree chart. I am very glad Irene sent me the photo of Lou Vern Perry Butcher with her aunt Emily Perry Hamilton. Irene was a sweet and helpful lady. So sorry for her loss. Margaret in Michigan
does anyone have the obituary for Irene Hamilton She wrote to me several times and sent me a picture of my great aunt Lou Vern Haynes Butcher. I am not sure now how we are connected but she was research the Perry 'a and Hayes families. Emily Hayes Hamilton was also in the photo as was two of Emily's grandchildren Appreciate any help anyone maybe able to provide. Thank you Margaret in Michigan
What's the death date? Sometimes obits show up on Genealogy Bank for Union Couny residents but through the Knoxville papers, at least for more recent years. I could check there, if I had even a ball park date.
