I do have approximate birth years from the censuses for Samuel's children, also more information on William's children and grandchildren. One of William's sons, James Marvin, was my grandfather. I have not been able to find very much on Roes in the southern half of the United States on the internet. So I started searching the censuses. I have the census records on every Roe/Rowe/Row listed in the 1850, 1860, 1880 and some of the 1870 census indices. I have found, to my dismay, that the indices often leave out some. For example, my Samuel was not listed in the 1870 index. Another Samuel (much younger) was listed. A search page by page through the census itself found my Samuel on the same page with the other one! These searches take a long time since the nearest library is over an hour away. Please contact me directly at droe@gbronline.com so we can share information.
