I have contacted a David Gwinn in Brighton who is the person the courthouse gave me, but I cannot seem to get a reply. I will pay for the copies and such, I just need someone there to do it. In answer to your question, David Gwinn is a county employee and serves as the Tipton Conty Genealogist. Many of the old archived documents have been moved from the court house to the old legal building on Highway 51. David was the person who oversaw the transfer of irreplaceable documents into a safer environment. In order to reach David, probably the best way to reach him with genealogy questions is after hours at home by phone. I normally pay David for the work he does for me. He never asks for money, but his job is more of a voluntary position than a paying one. I will be glad to supply you with his home phone number if you will contact me privately.
