    3. Elizabeth married Samuel Neal in Tipton County in 1840s. Richards was her married name. Could someone please see if they can find the record of her divorce or marriage to Richards. Her maiden name could have been Webb or Stephens. One of her sisters married a Bill Stewart I believe. I have been told all of her sisters married in that area. Thank You Bobbye

    3. Hi, I could not remember if I wrote you a return note or not?? I have also found many spellings for Marcy. The most common was Massey/Massy. But, I guess the other names might have been corrupted version of Marcy too. We can find the named spelled Marcy though, back to the 1600's. And as they moved around to different parts of the country you could often find the spelling changes, but I think that had a lot to do with the clerk or census taker, etc., who was spelling it. Most times you will also find the Marcy spelling along with the other spellings. I do know that there were some Marcy's in Tipton County. I just have not been able to connect with any of them. I guess none of them are interested in genealogy!;o) I remember a lady a few years ago tried to talk me into the idea that our Marcy's were some Morrissey's in VA. I have no indications that ours were ever in VA? I think our branch came by boat to NC from Maryland as many of the connected families did. You can find several families by the same names that all moved to the Swansboro area that were also in the Somerset area of Maryland. And since they all had dealings with each other, I assume they all came together. I think there may even have been some going back and forth by boat? It would be interesting to find out if your Morrisetts were connected to Marcy. I wonder if another branch of Marcy's were the ones that lady had in VA?? That might be connected to yours?? Thanks for adding "some" info from Tipton County for me.
