1. Re: [Tipt'n] Marriage info before 1840
    2. The best source is the book Early West Tennessee Marriages. I do not have the book, but check your library for it. I have copied some pages from it, but not the ones that you need. Sistler's has the book, but it cost $122.00. That is the web site that I sent everyone. If you have an LDS Family Research Center near you, they may have it. I wish I could be of more help.

    3. Any one have the marriage records before 1840? I am in need of some look up's. A couple in particular: Alexander Hamilton OWEN and Sarah A. SMITH. They married some time after 1832. On the 1850 Tipton Co. Tn. census there are 5 children: ages 17, 15, 09, 07, and 03. We know his first wife died and I have a year of 1834. Do not know if this is correct. We can not really tell which children are for which wive. Calvin (C.H.?) WISEMAN and Mahalay Unkown. They were married prior to 1840. On the 1840 Tipton Co. Tn. census with out any children. Thank you Cathy

Many of the old archived documents have been moved from the court house to the old legal building on Highway 51. In order to reach David, probably the best way to reach him with genealogy questions is after hours at home by phone. I normally pay David for the work he does for me. 1. [Tipt'n] gen books
    2. Hello, I have found a web site that sells genealogy books on TN, NC, VA and KY. They have a great deal of books that could help in your research. The prices are reasonable. Go to it and see what you need. I especially liked the typed censuses! I have nothing to do with this web site, but it is awesome. They will do a census research on a surname for very little, if you do not want to purchase the book. They have other books too that will interest you. GENEALOGY BOOKS FOR SALE: RECORDS FROM TENNESSEE, VIRGINIA, NORTH CAROLINA, AND Happy Hunting!
