Good Morning Everyone, My husband's grandparents, Lancy Warren & Molly Elizabeth Campbell Davis, are buried at Charleston Cemetery. There are other family members related to both Lancy & Molly buried there. I'd be interested in connecting all these families. Do you have a family member buried there? They might be related. Also, is there a written history of the cemetery and church? Do any of you know who's tombstone has almost been covered over by that big oak tree? I took a photo of that tombstone several years ago. Recently, at the burial of Annie Rob Smith Sturdivant, I took another photo. There's very little of it left. I made a copy of all the info you have listed on Mary Glass and descendants. As I was looking at some of the dates, such as, Martha Glass and Elijah Armstrong, it seems that if they married in 1874 and the third child, Robert, was born the same year they married, were the first two out of wedlock? I would like to know what your references are for all of this information because I would like to keep this data in my notes. Did you gain some of this info from census, wills, deeds, etc.? I'm not doubting you or anything, I just want to know where the information came from. Thanks for all the hard work you have done. Do you have any idea who Mary's husband was? I will be working on these lines also and will be glad to pass any info I get along to you. Thank you for your help. Nancy (Glass) Barker

My direct lines includes James Byars and Lucy Thornton Minor. This family was in Colorado Co., TX by the 1860 census. When James died in 1863, Lucy moved to Covington, Tipton Co., TN to live with their son James, Jr. and his family. She died there in 1870. James, Jr. m.1851 Tipton Co. to Mary Jane (Hungerford?) Vincent. They are also both buried in Covington, Tipton Co. They had 4 children. The only child I have a name for is William Vincent Byars b. 1854 Tipton Co. m. 1880 Loula Clement Collins and d. 1938 Kirkwood, MO. Mary Jane's father William B. Vincent and stepmother (I think) Elizabeth were in Covington, Tipton Co. for the 1850 census. However, James, Jr. is not my direct line. My line is through James and Lucy's eldest son William Minor Byars who stayed in Colorado Co., TX. I can provide more information about his family if you are interested. James Byars b. 1784 d. 1863 and Lucy Thornton Minor were both born in Hanover Co., VA. James' parents were (I believe) James Byars b. abt. 1740 d. 1823 and Elizabeth Anne Mat(t)hews. This James' father was also James. I have been trying to establish a connection to James Henry Byars, as one researcher I have been in contact with thinks that this James might be him. Please let me know if you connect with this Byars family. I will look forward to hearing from you. Thank you very much, Dorothy Reilly NoahsArx@aol.com
