My Grandparents were Robert Wallace and Annie Margurette Carr, they called my grandmother Margie. I am the daughter to Annie Lois Joyner. I have the book that was spoken of in an earlier post. Would be glad to share info on our families with you. I have been able to go back to the early 1700s on the Joyner/Dalton side. You would be very surprised as to what is in our tree from way back then. Also I have photos of the graves of William A. Joyner, Harvey, Washington, Mary Elizabeth Forbes Joyner wife to William Henry. Also of Minnie Lois, her mother, Mary Jane Pickard Easley.

    3. Check the Memphis Board of Education. They had my grandmother's school records going back to abt. 1900 when she needed proof of age for social security. My mother went to Pope school during the late 1920's and 30's. I no longer live in Memphis, but if I can help you, please let me know.     2. Pope was an elementary school until several years ago when it was torn down. The original Pope School was on Chelsea near downtown Memphis. Then in the 1950s Pope and Grant School swapped building and names. In the 1920s Pope was still on Chelsea Ave. I cannot help you with the district, but since it was near the heart of downtown Memphis, this might help you a little bit.     2. Looking for Parkers of West Tennessee that lived on and around the Lakes of West Tennessee. My Parkers were William A.(Bud) Parker b. abt 1897 and Luemma or Emma Kuykendall Parker b. abt 1890 d. 1926. Emmas mother was Mary Francis Eubanks Kuykendall. She married John C. Kuykendall of Jackson, TN. They lived in Shelby, Lake, Tipton, Obion and Dyer Co. 1910-1926. Their children were William(Billy), Robert Harold, Luther Lee,Paul Chester and Anne Ruth. William, Robert, Luther and Paul enlisted into the military WW2 in Memphis and also made their homes there before 1955. My father, before his death made many trips to those counties presumbabily to visit relatives. A good friend of his was a (surname White).
