Is there any record of sawmills in the Gallatin/Sumner County area in the late 1800s? My grandfather, Jere Dock Whitman, worked at a sawmill in that area, and it would be nice if there might be a record of the sawmills - and names of employees, etc. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
