As far as I know Nancy HILL is still unproven as the wife of Ishom I. Ishom Hodges II and Elizabeth (Betsy) CLAY arrived in Sumner Co. in 1812. Betsy Clay's parents were William CLAY (b 1733 Henrico Co Va, d Oct 1810 Franklin Co KY) and his wife Milly. William Clay is supposed to be the son of William Mitchell CLAY and Martha RUNYAN. Juanita Patton wrote a book about the Hodges in the late 1980's. If you are descended from Asa HODGES and Jemima COCHRAN, please contact me. I also have info on several of the other Sumner Co. descendants of Ishom II.
