Was Nina's husband Thomas Alonzo ASHLOCK, born 1860, the son of the Rev. Isaac ASHLOCK and his 2nd wife Mary P. HUNTER? If not, who were his parents? Does anyone know anything about Thomas and Nina, i.e. children, death date/place,etc. Thanks. >> I have checked my notes to see if I could find an answer to your question. I can say that your Thomas Ashlock WAS NOT a son of Mary Ann (Hunter) Ashlock, who was Isaac M. Ashlock's FIRST wife (not his second wife). Mary Ann died after 1857 when her youngest child, Phebe, was born, but before the 1860 census was taken. I am not, however sure if your Thomas Ashlock was the same as Thomas Alonzo Ashlock, who was a child of Rev. Isaac Melton Ashlock by his second wife, Margaret. That looks possible, but I don't have all Ashlock census data in Sumner County, so I cannot say with certainty. I do have the following census information that may be helpful: 1870 U.S. Census, Sumner County, Tennessee [sorry, I didn't make exact references when I transcribed this information over 20 years ago] Ashlock, Isaac 45 b. TN Margaret 40 b. TN Elizabeth 20 b. TN Manda 17 b. TN Daniel 15 b. TN Ann 14 b. TN Alonzo 10 b. TN Joshua 7 b. TN James 4 b. TN Malinda 3 b. TN 1880 US Census, Sumner County, Tennessee [Again, no exact reference. Sorry] Ashlock, Isaac 55 farmer&cabinet maker b. TN [birthplace of father & mother unknown] Margaret M. 49 wife b. TN father b. Isaac Ashlock and his second wife are buried in Mount Vernon Methodist Church Cemetery in Sumner County. They have a joint tombstone over their graves, which has the following information: Rev. Isaac M. Ashlock - Dec. 16, 1825-June 26, 1894. O grave, where is thy victory. Cor. 15-55. Margaret M. Ashlock - April 6, 1831-Aug. 8, 1912. We trust in God To meet thee again. I have noted in the margin of my cemetery records that Margaret Ashlock was a LEE before her marriage to Isaac Ashlock. I hope this helps. Erick Montgomery
