Melinda Frances "Lennie" STONE B. 1883 Butler Co KY d. 1956 Simpson Co, KY Franklin Buried: Providence Baptist Church Cemetary between Orlinda TN and Franklin, KY. Children: Ethel, Robert, Annie, Herbert, Mae Elizabeth, Hubert, Viola and Jesse RIPPY. STONE, Robert Porter B. 1863 Nashville TN d. 1950 Nashville TN (we think) m. 3 April 1881 MOODY, Lucinda Elizabeth buried: Mt. Union Church Allen Co, KY children: James Benjamin, Melinda Frances, Garland rvin (Irving), Ida , Carrie Enoch, Lillie M, Troy STONE, STONE, James Edward b. 1838 Halfway KY injured in the Civil War after 3 yeard of service Honorable Discharge 1865, died of Tuberculosis in Nashville, TN m. 6 September 1858 Lucinda Frances SATTERFIELD d. 1867 STONE, Jonathan m. Mahaley/Mahalia ASHFORD or ASHTON fell off his horse and died. Children: James Edward, James Benjamin, Jonathan, John, Elijah, David, Lennie and Jennie STONE, twins. He was believed to be a Methodist Circuit Preacher. STONE, William (1603-1695) b. In 1640 he was Sheriff of Northampton County, VA; in 1648 William became Governor of Charles Co, MD appointed by LORD BALTIMORE He had brothers: Sprigg, Matthew a nd the othr names I will have to look up. His life is traceable in history due to being so prominent in political circles and service to the Government in VA, MD, etc. He was well thought of and a fair and just man. 4 June 1635 he had endentured servants that he had either brought with him from England or bought along the way to help with his Manor in AVON. These were: ARMETRADING< Henry FOSTER, Armstrong SMITH, Thomas CONNAGRAVE, Thomas HANKINSON, William BURT, Edward 1633 he took the oath of Commissioners of ye Plantation of Acchawmacke and this was when it was first administered by the founding fathers. The Government and council administered this oath 29 Aug 1633 and this can be found in history of Accomac, VA. A Mariner named James Riccoste said that he sailed on the Natalis Christi. We have a STONE Bible in our possession at a first cousin's home in KY. Patti
