    3. Would you Sumner Co. TN listers be willing to help me with a dilemma and a question? The only marriage record in the right time frame that I have been able to locate for my g-g-g-grandmother Mary KING to "a" FARRIS was recorded in 1838 in Sumner Co.,TN for a George W. FARRIS and a Mary E. KING. The year is good, because my g-g-grandfather, Isaac Smith FARRIS was born in 1839 in KY (probably in Barren Co.), and he was the first child of my Mary (KING) FARRIS. There is nothing else on the marriage record mentioned above besides the names, the date, and the year. My dilemma and question is this: I believe my Mary KING lived in Cumberland Co., KY, and her FARRIS husband-to-be lived in Barren Co., KY. These two counties are not far from Sumner Co., TN. Would there be any particular reason that any of you know of for this couple to have traveled (looks to be a fairly short distance on the map) from KY to Sumner Co.,TN to get married? Was it possibly easier or quicker or ??? to go across the border from KY to TN? I would like to somehow verify if the marriage record for George W. FARRIS and Mary E. KING in 1838 *was* OR *was not* my ancestors and the father and mother of Isaac Smith FARRIS. Thank you for ANY help, Ginny in AZ
