I'm told that a couple of their brothers moved to Sumner Co. I know that 3 Gilmore girls moved there: Elizabeth who married John WEATHERRED, Mary "Polly" who married John TOOLEY, and Frances who married Thomas MEADOR. I've been trying to find Joseph's parents for years, and wondering if he might have been the son of Jane HEARD and John GILMORE who were in Albemarle in the 1750s and later moved to Cumberland Co., NC. I'm told Jane and John Gilmore had a daughter named Isabell, born about 1750. Jane HEARD was the daughter of Isabella and Charles HEARD. Charles Heard died in Albemarle Co. 1748. Maybe there is a connection somewhere. Please let me know if you find it.
